Basiliscus Plumifrons (Plumed Basilisk) is a basilisk lizard. Basilisks are lizards that feel safe in a wet enviorment and never go to far from water. Basilisks also use water as an escape route. The basilisk lizard family all share one rare method of escape: sprinting on water. They spread their toes and move quickly across the water. The basilisks earned themselves a nickname. the Jesus Christ Lizard, because in Matthew Jesus walked on water towards the disciples boat.
